Other Recovery Act Grant Notices
The Office of Management and Budget has authorized some programs to use alternate grant systems to process Recovery Act grant applications because of the heightened period of demand created by the Recovery Act. Learn more about this strategy and review a list of the agencies accepting some or all of their applications outside of Grants.gov.
The Recovery Act appropriated $7.2 billion and directed the Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service (RUS) and The Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) to expand broadband access to unserved and underserved communities across the U.S., increase jobs, spur investments in technology and infrastructure, and provide long-term economic benefits. The result is the RUS Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) and the NTIA Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP).
The deadline for the first round of broadband grants was August 14, 2009. Read the report by the Office of Tennessee Recovery Act Management of Broadband Prioritized Projects (PDF, 350KB).
